The same ₩600,000 rent — one gets ₩1.22M back, the desk next door gets ₩0
The monthly rent tax credit gives back 15% or 17% of rent to a renter who is a non-homeowning head of household with total pay of ₩80M or less and a completed move-in registration. At ₩55M or less the rate is 17%, so ₩7.2M of rent returns ₩1,224,000; above that it is 15%, ₩1,080,000. The cap is ₩10M of rent, a maximum of ₩1.7M, and anyone who does not apply gets ₩0.

Frequently asked
Can the landlord block it?
No consent is needed. The employee applies directly with the lease and transfer records.

An amended claim can recover it for up to five years from the statutory filing deadline.
What if I never registered my move-in?
Move-in registration is a requirement. The lease address must match the resident registration, so register first.
